This Week Tonight was off this week but that doesn’t mean that John Oliver wasn’t able to offer some comedy to get the week started right.
“Cicadas are set to emerge again from their unusually long reproductive cycle. The ones coming out of the ground this summer were conceived in 1999, seek ” a news report notes in this web exclusive. With that in mind, visit Oliver wanted to catch these noisy creatures up on the news of the past seventeen years.
Oliver noted that “The lead singer of the R&B group Destiny’s Child is essentially our Queen now ” while “Some things that were very popular in 1999 have become a lot scarcer such as carbohydrates and Cosby Show reruns.”
